\n \n\nThe Seychelles is a collection of over 100 islands situated south of the equator, approximately 1,000 miles off the east coast of Africa\n in the Indian Ocean. There are two types of islands in the Seychelles – Granite and Coral. The granite islands are the most scenic\n and huge granite boulders line pristine beaches. As lush tropical vegetation contrasts white beaches and crystal clear turquoise seas,\n the granite islands are amongst the most beautiful in the world.
\nMost locals live and work on the 3 main islands: Mahé, Praslin, and La Digue. The largest island, Mahé, is home to the capital - Victoria,\n the international airport, and most of the population. There are plenty of activities on Mahé including snorkeling, diving, hiking,\n shopping, and sunbathing on a deserted beach. Maia Luxury Resort, Banyan Tree Seychelles, Four Seasons Seychelles, Hilton Northolme,\n and Constance Ephelia are our favorite resorts on Mahé.
\nPraslin is the second largest island in the Seychelles and has gorgeous beaches such as Anse Lazio and Anse Georgette. Praslin also has\n the UNESCO World Heritage site, Valle De Mai, which is an ancient Palm Tree forest home to the erotically shaped Coco de Mer coconut.\n Praslin is a short 15-minute flight from Mahé. The nicest resorts on Praslin Island are Raffles Praslin Seychelles and Constance Lemuria\n Resort.
\nOne cannot talk about beaches in the Seychelles without mentioning the most famous of all, Anse Source de Argent, on La Digue Island. The\n beach is the most photographed in the Seychelles with huge granite boulders spread across the beach. La Digue is a short boat ride\n from Praslin and can be visited as a day trip or guests can stay on the island. Our favorite resort on La Digue Island is the boutique\n Le Domaine De L’Orangeraie.
\nA few luxury resorts have been developed on smaller private islands. These islands are ideal getaways to relax, dine, and dive at some\n of the most secluded, beautiful, and luxurious island resorts in the World. For the ultimate in seclusion and privacy, renting an entire\n island for your party can easily be arranged!
\nIsland hopping is quite popular. Staying on a couple islands is very common and transportation between the islands is easy.

\n\t\t\t\tOur team agrees the size of the villa isn’t everything - it’s the overall experience while at the resort that matters most. While a great\n villa is a must, access to a range of activities, amazing food, and personalized experiences are often necessary to make the ultimate\n list. We’ve included top-notch villas at resorts featuring stunning wine cellars, Michelin-star quality food, discreet service, and\n the best watersports. So now the list!

Prince William and Kate enjoyed this villa on their honeymoon,\n so yes…it’s fit for royalty.

Located in the Shaviyani Atoll, normally a 50-minute seaplane transfer, though our transfer was a little longer than that as we made a couple stops\n along the way. “WOW! This resort is remote” was my first reaction. One of the more remote resorts I have been to the Maldives as no other resort,\n boat, or plane are to be seen anywhere.\n
\n
\n\n\n\nPLAY
After a warm welcome from the staff we were immediately whisked away and driven through the middle of the island, past one of the most striking features\nof the resort, the main pool. This is the longest main pool in the Maldives! At 650 feet (200 meters), the pool stretches from one side of the island to\nthe other. It’s a great place to relax and take that amazing endless blue photo. It is a striking feature.\n
\n
Tip #1 – Spend an afternoon relaxing by the pool with a few cold beers and one of their beautiful homemade pizzas straight out of the wood fired oven.\n
\n\n
\n
Taking time to explore the large island, we were impressed with the space, the variety of room categories and the options for kids, teenagers and adults\nalike. For the junior traveler, getting them out of the cool kid’s club might be a problem. It looks like a lot of fun! There is also a specific teenagers\nretreat, an air-conditioned games area, and an art studio area.\n
\n\n
\n\n
\n
Directly out from Onu Onu, the beach cocktail bar, is the Underwater Art Installation by Jason Decaires Taylor.\n
\n
The sculptures in the lagoon offer visitors a unique attraction. It will create the foundation of an artificial reef to enhance and support the underwater\necosystem. The centerpiece is the Coral Cube, the world’s first semi-submerged art space. Guided tours conducted by the resident marine biologist are also\navailable.\n
\n
Tip #2 – Snorkel to see the art work, as it’s well worthwhile.\n
\n
\n\n\n\n\nSLEEP
\n\n\nWe were immediately impressed with the well thought out layout and the incredible uninterrupted view from the bed, over the pool, and out to the ocean\n of our Water Sunrise Villa. The on-trend bathroom features an amazing copper bathtub.\n\n
\n\n
\n\n
\n
Tip #3 (for new husbands) – Surprise your wife with a luxury bath setup. Have a quiet word with your butler and they will be able to set it up\n for you\n
\n
During our stay we were also lucky enough to also stay in a Deluxe Sunset Beach Villa. These private beach villas are great for guests looking\n for a little extra room. The villa has a large bedroom, a large living space that can be closed off from the main bedroom area, and a huge indoor\n and outdoor bathroom and dressing room area. A pool and deck offer a variety of places to relax, either in or out of the sun. The Deluxe Beach\n Villas are great for families traveling with small children when a 2-bedroom villa is not necessary.\n

Azure offers an overwater fine dining experience for lovers of seafood. Kata is the signature Japanese restaurant and bar. The outside tables\n offer endless views of ocean and the rooftop bar is a great place for a cocktail, whiskey, or sake at sunset.\n
\n
Tip #4 – Be sure to watch some of the food preparation at Kata. Chefs cook on a raised platform whereby they cook kneeling down!\n
\n
Tip #5 – Ask to have your dessert up on the rooftop bar under the stars – great way to finish off an evening.\n
\n\n
\n
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Fairmont and recommend it to those travelers looking for a large resort with plenty of room to move.\n\n
