Johannesburg

Johannesburg, the largest city in South Africa, is a great city to use as a base for exploration of the rest of South Africa. Many International flights arrive in Johannesburg and it is quite possible you will spend a night or two in the city.

South Africa has fairly mild winters and hot summers which make it a nice destination year-round. Many people feel the best time to visit is October through April. Other people prefer May through November. It depends on where you are in South Africa. Game Viewing around Kruger National Park is nice year-round and August is a particularly busy month. Cape Town can be cool in the winter months, though is quite popular in the summer months.

Flights from the United States are regularly scheduled from cities such as New York, Washington D.C. and Atlanta. Flights also arrive from Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.
