Little Mombo is part of the famous Mombo Camp, however, the setting and atmosphere at Little Mombo are so wonderful and private that Little Mombo warrants its own description. The tents at Little Mombo and Mombo Camp are exactly the same and all the tents are connected via a beautiful raised walkway. The three tents at one end of the walkway are called Little Mombo. Guests staying in these three tents have a separate lounge, eating area (although the food is exactly the same as at the larger Mombo Camp), and pool. All of this offers a more private and intimate setting where guests needs seem to be anticipated and where guests are attended to in lightning speed. Little Mombo is excellent for small groups of up to 6 people, celebrities and other high profile guests needing privacy, and for those guests that prefer interacting in smaller groups and a more intimate setting.

Little Mombo is situated on Mombo Island, adjoining the northern tip of Chief's Island, and is within the Moremi Game Reserve in the Okavango Delta in northern Botswana. The island is surrounded by open floodplains and the camp itself is largely built in and around the shade of large ebony and fig trees - overlooking a wonderful floodplain teeming with game.

Mombo/Little Mombo is renowned as one of the best game areas in Africa. The area is a predator haven with frequent sightings of Lions, Leopards, and Cheetah. Wild Dogs can be seen and inter-predator interaction is a feature. Zebra, Wildebeest, Buffalo, Giraffe, Elephant, and delta antelope are present in numbers. Year round birding is also superb. The excellent game at Little Mombo/Mombo has made this area Botswana's top wildlife documentary location.

Guests staying at Little Mombo go on game drives in the same area as guests staying at Mombo Camp; however, guests at Little Mombo have their own vehicle and experienced and knowledgeable guide at their disposal.

Game Drives

  • 100% Game drives. No water activities although guests will see water in the area at times
