Water Villas

Stretching from the center of the island, a long wooden bridge leads guests to the resort’s Water Villas. Thin Rah

The main restaurant at Kanuhura Resort, Thin Rah offers expansive buffets with open-cooking stations where chefs prepare themed cuisines and individual dishes for guests. In one of three dining pavilions, each with a distinct theme and ambience, enticing choices include fish, seafood and regional specialties, fusion dishes, sushi and sashimi, exotic salads and fruits from markets around the world, homemade ice creams and selections for younger guests. Tables are set in the airy open-sided interior of the thatch-roofed restaurant or out on the beach overlooking the lagoon and poolside for al fresco breakfasts and evenings under the stars. Olive Tree

Serves a la carte dishes from throughout the Mediterranean and features an open pizza oven. Specialties are fresh pastas, salads and a mouth-watering selection of freshly caught grilled seafood and steaks. ‘Cuisines of the sun’ inspired by the flavors of the Mediterranean are offered for lunch. Veli Café

Candlelit romance on the shores of the Indian Ocean sets the tone for Veli Cafe, with its white-linen covered tables and chairs set amidst the luxurious shade of frangipani trees on the beachside wooden terrace. An extensive choice of carefully selected wines make the perfect accompaniment to fresh seafood from the Maldivian atolls, fused with spices, pickles and sauces to form a delectable Thai cuisine. Handhuvaru Bar

Cool off with a chilled drink in the shade with feet dangling in the sand… or enjoy the sunshine around the pool. A selection of cocktails, beers, wines by the glass, and fresh juices are available throughout the day, complemented by an all-day snack menu of international favorites. This specious, partly sand-floored bar also offers an outdoor terrace with over-cushioned daybeds and over-sized chairs for two, and an interior with inviting, cozy seating and windows wide-open to the daylight. Nashaa Club

The Maldives first nightclub, Nashaa Club is hidden away at the far end of the island and provides a tropical atmosphere for dancing the night away to international hits and old discotheque favorites. Open Saturdays only.

Two floodlit tennis courts, an air-conditioned squash court, darts, table football, table tennis and billiards.

Water Sports

Scuba diving, snorkeling, windsurfing, water-skiing, wake-boarding, catamaran sailing, speed boating, fishing, canoeing, pedalo boating, banana boat and tube rides, and exploring the ocean with underwater scooters.

Jehunuhura Island

Across a 300 meter shallow lagoon channel, just a five-minute boat ride from Kanuhura Resort, is the resort’s neighboring uninhabited islet of Jehunuhura. A pristine powder-fine sand beach and a small manicured ‘jungle’ interior give a true Robinson Crusoe feel to this little piece of paradise. Six individual cabanas offer guests a relaxing retreat from the heat of the afternoon sun. Chilled water and cold towels are available throughout the day. In the evening, the island becomes a haven for private parties or romantic and intimate candle-lit evening for couples.

Spa/Fitness

The spa creates a sanctuary for relaxation and overall wellness. Set in its own lavish pavilion and featuring beautifully designed wooden interiors, the spa houses eight beautifully appointed treatment rooms complete with private outdoor shower, half of which are designed for couples to have side-by-side therapies.
