Cocoa Island is the Indian Ocean outpost from COMO Hotels and Resorts, the company behind Parrot Cay in the Turks and Caicos.

On the west side of Cocoa Island lies the Kandooma Channel, one of the best dive sites in the Maldives; on the other side is a quiet reef for snorkeling flanked by a curl of rockless beach which tapers into a spit of sand. This is as long as the island, disappearing with the advance of the Maldivian tide.

Rooms are inspired by dhoni boats, as used by local fishermen, adjoined by simple wooden walkways built above the shallow ocean. Each is its own discreet fiefdom. From your room, walk out on to a private terrace; from your terrace, slip into a warm Maldivian sea. The view from the wide platform bed is directly out to the watery expanse. And the bathrooms, all with double sinks, a bath and shower, share the horizon views.

Dhoni Suites

A split level bedroom with King or Twin beds on the entrance level with 2 steps down onto a living area that leads onto your private sundeck. Two meter high glass windows and doors leads to your private sundeck where you will find 2 chaise lounges and a small dining table and chairs. Direct access to the lagoon is available from your sundeck. Bathroom contains a single vanity unit with separate bathtub, shower stall and toilet.

Dhoni Loft Suites

An expansive living area with vaulted ceilings surrounded by full length glass windows on 3 sides providing panoramic views of the Indian Ocean. A staircase leads you to the loft fitted with a low-level King-sized bed with a separate WC and vanity. From the living area, French Doors lead to your private sundeck. Direct access to the lagoon is available from your sundeck. The large bathroom has double vanity, separate bathtub, shower stall and toilet.

One Bedroom Villas

Each villa features a private entrance deck. The bedroom sits one step up from the bathroom and living room and features a king-size bed. Privacy screens in the water ensure seclusion in all areas.

Two Bedroom Villas

At Cocoa Island, eat like a castaway - fresh lobster, caught locally, cooked in the Keralan style. Ufaa

Dine feet-in-the-sand at the main restaurant, Ufaa, beneath an alang-alang pavilion and huge Maldivian sky. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner with flexible dining to suit guests’ preference, presided over by Australian chef Stana Johnson. Cuisine is a blend of Indian and Sri Lankan traditions with an emphasis on locally caught seafood and fresh produce.

Faru

Serving fine wines, exotic cocktails and energizing juices. Adjacent to infinity pool, leads directly onto the beach.

COMO Shambhala Cuisine

Guests can benefit from a wide and changing variety of menus (breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as room service) which focus on nutritionally enriching and organic foodstuffs. The emphasis is on raw ingredients, which are more easily digested as well as richer in living enzymes, vitamins and sea minerals.
